This is an excellent minimally invasive procedure to remove all types of stones from kidney & upper ureter. It is very effective. It is cost effective, one time procedure.

In this procedure, 1 cm small incision in flank is kept under anesthesia & approach to kidney is made with help of ultrasonography & C arm machine. Under vision by nephroscope – any hard or big stone can be fragmented by pneumatic Lithotripsy & removed. Usual operative time is 30 to 60 minutes. Only rarely patient requires blood transfusion. Patient needs 3 to 4 days of hospitalization & 1 or 2 days more rest. Patient can resume his duty after 8 to 10 days. Usually by procedure 99% of big renal stone can be treated successfully. We have successfully performed more than 1000 PCNL. They include single, multiple, bilateral, staghorn & complicated renal stones.
